INCIDENT SUMMARY. The Pioneer Fire broke out on June 8, 2024, 10 miles southeast of Stehekin, Washington. The cause is still being listed as a human-caused source and is under investigation.

CURRENT STATUS. The fire has burned about 4,711 acres of timber and grass and has a seven (7)% containment status.

FIRE BEHAVIOR. Fire behavior has been observed by resources as active with creeping, backing, and flanking.

FIRE OPERATIONS.

Structure Protection. Structure protection is in effect for structures outside of the fire perimeter near the lakeshore areas and the historic school in Boulder Creek.

RESOURCES.

Fire Staffing & Equipment. There are a total of 610 fire personnel, which is less than 18 within the last 24-hour operational period. Fourteen (14) crews, two (2) engines, and three (3) copters remain assigned to this incident.

Command. Command of the Fire is under a CIMT, NW Team 7 with the WA DNR (SE Region) as the Lead Fire Agency.

Aviation Assets. Aircraft have successfully dropped 66,420 gallons of water and helped ground resources.

Hotspots. Hotspots were located in the upper end of Meadow Creek and were quickly addressed by resources and extinguished.
