Firefighters were dispatched to a commercial structure fire in the 15000 block of Whittram Avenue in Fontana (San Bernardino County), California this evening, where they arrived on the scene of a well-involved pallet yard fire, that broke out on Saturday evening.
The Fire covered about 0.25 acres and was spreading to about one acre with the yard site.
SBCoFD PIO stated the fire was threatening several commercial buildings and that multiple fire agencies which had responded as mutual aid.
The fire had reached four alarms where it remains as of now.
There were 18 engines, five trucks, four Chief Officers, three Squads, and about 85 firefighters egressing on this fire.
Requests from the Water Supply group to Command to increase pressure to help with putting the wet stuff on the red stuff. The Water Department received the request and answered the call to increase the water pressure to help with the City’s firefighting efforts.
Fire Officials are asking area residents to close their windows, and doors and to shelter in place, due to heavy smoke and poor air quality concerns.
