Lookout Fire | July 20, 2024 | PM Update

The Lookout Fire is located in the 42000 block of Deadwood Lookout Road in Oakhurst (Madera County), California.

Firefighters were dispatched Friday night around 2305 hours PT to a brush fire in the area with smoke showing. After arriving in the area, they found four fires burning and accessing the first three less than 15 minutes later. The fourth one they had difficulties reaching it.

A few minutes later, according to Scanner traffic, it was determined there were a total of five fires burning. The fourth was reported as one acre and the fifth one was less than one acre in size.

On Saturday afternoon (1400), the total acres was listed as 10.8 acres with a 35% containment status. Around 1812 hours, the fire status was upgraded to 11 acres with a 65% containment status.

This is still an active incident.
