On July 22, 2024, lightning passed over Paulina, Oregon, and sparked several wildfires. This CRAZY CREEK FIRE is one of many that started on this day and is located about 16 miles north of the Paulina area.

Today, the fire has burned about 86,603 acres and there is a 71% containment status, but not before destroying 1 non-residential commercial building and 1 minor structure.

There are still 721 total personnel assigned along with 20 crews, 12 bulldozers, 18 water tenders, 3 masticators, 36 skid steers, 38 engines, and a single helicopter. It is under the management of the CA Team 1, a CIMT.

Fire behavior continues to show active with flanking, single tree torching, and spotting, putting homes, and sage-grouse habitat in danger.
