In 1621, the First Celebration occurred by Plymouth colonists from England and the Native American Wampanoag people was one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations.

It would be proclaimed as a national holiday by our President Abe Lincoln in 1863.

Congress would put it officially on the calendar in 1941.

Today, we have many traditions here in the U.S., and one of them for us is thanking each and every one of you for being a part of our NW Fire Blog Family for many contributions, follows, providing tips, and supporting us throughout the years.

We wish you and your families a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. For those who have to work this Holiday, thank you for protecting and serving us.

With Many Thanks,

LR Swenson (Editor/Blogger/Owner)
