What started out as a fairly small fire Tuesday afternoon, April 22, 2025, quickly turned into a fierce firestorm and prompting mandatory evacuation orders to be issued.

This wildfire is called the Jersey Road Fire, located on Jersey Road in Ocean and Lacey Townships in Ocean County, New Jersey.
Some resources include:
- Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst | firefighters have been deployed and are assisting along with others from jurisdictions locally, county, state, and now federally. (Photo Credit)
- Point Pleasant FD | Multiple resources were returned home earlier this evening into the early morning from being assigned to the structure protection group.

- Ocean County EMS Coordinators
- New Jersey Forest Fire Service (lead)
- Jackson Fire District #2
As of 1343 hours, Officials with the New Jersey Forest Fire Service state the following:
- 12,500 acres
- 40% containment
- 18 structures threatened
- Evacuation orders lifted
- 1 commercial structure destroyed
- Multiple outbuildings and vehicles were destroyed
- A damage assessment in effect
- A TFR is in effect – Officials would like to remind those #nodronesinfirezones
CLOSED:
- Both evacuation shelters are at St. Mary’s Parish Center & Manchester High School.
The cause has not been released by Fire Officials, and they state the investigation is ongoing.
No injuries to civilians or first responders have been reported.
