2017 hours PT — The forward progression of the wildfire has been stopped, according to the Umatilla County Fire District #1 PIO. Firefighters will remain on the fire ground and throughout the night for mop-up and patrolling for any hot spots, as well as working towards full containment.

2010 hours PT — A wildfire is burning near Hermiston (Umatilla County), Oregon, that appears to have ignited from an unknown cause this afternoon.

According to the wildcad.net dispatch log, there have been about 960 acres burned according to this source, but another one (UCFD1) at 1635 hours PT, says the fire has burned about 4,000 acres, and one residence has been lost with 15-30 more at risk.

The ICP (Incident Command Post) is located at Fire Station 25.

The IC (Incident Commander) is Fuels-805.

Aviation assets include: Wenatchee fixed wing, one helicopter, and two scoopers.

SHELTER: Red Cross Shelter, Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center, 1705 East Airport Way in Hermiston, Oregon.

INCIDENT COOPERATORS: Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, American Red Cross, OSFM, and the Umatilla County Fire District #1.

EVACUATION ORDERS ARE IN EFFECT:
