At approximately 9:30pm on January 28, 2012, a fire broke out in the home in the 4200 block and NE 197th Street in Lake Forest Park.

Northshore Fire units Engines 51 & 57, Rescue 51, Battalion 51 jointly with Shoreline units Ladder 61, Engine 63, Battalion 61, MSO 6 and Medic 47 quickly arrived on scene.

The Seattle Fire Buff Society, a unit that provides REHAB to local firefighters also were on scene with Support 4 (Lee Kane) and Support 5 (Eric Swenson).

A light amount of smoke was showing until they pulled down some ceiling finding they had fire in the attic.  Crews quickly battled the blaze calling in two additional engines for manpower but found they weren’t needed as the fire was tapped fairly fast after the initial request.

The cause started as a chimney fire that went up into the attic.  We are happy to report all residents escaped their home unharmed.  No injuries to firefighters were reported.

Most fire units went back into service around 11:30pm.
