At approximately 0107 Hours this early morning, the Seattle Fire Department received the first 911 call dispatching the following units Aid 14, Air 9, Battalions 4 & 7, Deputy 1, Engines 1, 2, 20, 36, 5 and 9 with Ladders 4 & 7. Medic 18, Marine Van, Patrol 4, Rescue 80, Safety 2 also responded to a a Boat under 50′ Fire on Shore at the 2400 Block of Westlake Avenue North.
Multiple calls were received with the first engine reporting a boat fully engulfed with exposures. They were laying a 2 and a half. Water was immediately on the fire and fire crews were able to tap it in two (2) minutes.
No injuries were reported and the occupants of the boat at the marina were not home at the time of the fire. Cause was determined to be an electrical code. Damage was estimated at $20,000.00.
