INCIDENT UPDATE

Updated 1800 Hours.  Air quality report was released.  Corral Complex fire increased to 1,105 acres and Butler Fire increased to 1,585.  Smoke remained low from the Salmon River.  Expectations for thunderstorms and lightning from N. to NE., Smoke to the SW.  More information at http://www.com.siskiyou.ca.us/docs/Air_report_2013.pdf.

Tenant Fire

INCIDENT INFORMATION

Lightning caused, burning on Kern River Ranger District up to 351 acres.  Received substantial rainfall on Monday, August 19, 2013.  Fire burning and threatening private property, Oak Flat Lookout and communications towers (East of Fire).  Being managed by Shirley Fire as Shirley Complex fire.  CA Interagency Management Team 3 has assumed command.

CLOSURES

Kern River Valley – due to road and mud slides, Ranchera & Alder Creek Roads due to fire activity.  Closed are Alder Creek Road and campground, Oak Flat Lockout, Evan Flats campground.  Updates, call Kern River Ranger at 760-376-3787 ext. 0.

INCIDENT INFO

600 Acres burned.  Fire near Lucky Peak Dam along Hwy. 21. 6 structures burned. Heavy traffic backup on Hwy 21.  Hoping to move firefighter equipment and reopen Hwy. around 2030 PST tonight.  Resources pouring into area with helos, air tankers and engines.  Responding units from USFS, Bureau of Land Mgmt., Ada County & Valley of the Pines Rural FD.  Structure protection in place for Lucky Peak Helibase and Nursery, Rocky Mtn. Research Facility and for a Forest Service residence.

INCIDENT INFORMATION

The Triumph Lane Fire began on August 19, 2013, around 1500 Hours, which is approximately 18 miles E of Lewiston (Nex Perce County).  It is burning approximately 5 miles N. or Culdesac is approximately 80 acres and is 10% contained.  Cause is unknown and is being investigated. It has already burned 6 structures, with one being a home.  20 structures are currently threatened along Grade Road.  Resources include:  40 personnel, 7 engines, 2 water tenders and 1 dozer.  It is burning on the ID Department of Lands.

Chestnut Fire

INCIDENT INFORMATION

A second wildfire started in the same approximate area by lightning was discovered on Sunday, August 18th around 1400 Hours.  It is located 6 miles East of Gabbs with 3,937 acres scorched.  It is an approx containment level of 15% .  Cooperators:  USDA Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Nevada DOT, Nye County and the Yomba Tribe.

 INCIDENT UPDATE

As of 2000 Hours, the fire was updated through the inciweb website.  The Spring Peak wildfire, approximately 3 miles from the Bodie State Park has most of its resources on this historical park and has threatened or damaged the area’s cemetery.  The lightning caused fire now has 270 personnel on scene with 2 helos, 6 fixed wing aircraft, 18 engines, 10 crews, 3 water tenders and 2 dozers. The fire has now been increased to 20% containment.  15 structures are threatened with 100 commercial buildings threatened.  The fire has now reached an all new level of 14,300 acres.  There are no injuries reported.

Whiskey Cabin

Smoke from an interior unburned spot late afternoon Wednesday.  The warmer temperatures have allowed fuels to dry and become more acceptable to burning.

INCIDENT UPDATE

Updated 0900 8/20/13, Tuesday. Whiskey Fire now at 72% containment.  Buckeye Fire and Smith Ridge are at 100% containment and are in patrol status.

CLOSURES

S. Umqua River Hwy, Forest Service Road 28, access from Rogue River to Siskiyou National Forest via Forest 6620 (Abbott Prairie), 6640 (Grey Rock), 88 (Abbott Creek), 6610 (Sugar Pine), Supr 800 are closed at Forest  Boundary.
