This afternoon, a fire ripped through a family home in Cle Elum, a close-knit community located in Eastern Washington. Two young boys under the age of five years old perished in the fire, while their mother attempted to rescue them from the burning inferno. She was held back, as well as Firefighters and Police Officers.
The children’s mother was reportedly taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police do not know what sparked the fire at this time. Fire Investigators will be combing debris on Saturday looking for what started the blaze.
Names are being withheld at this time.
