Seattle, Washington – Seattle’s Bravest Charity and Seattle Fire Fighters Local 27 will partner once again for the second year with Operation Warm, sprinkling kids with compassion as they give over 300 coats to needy kids.
Operation Warm, a national non-profit has reached out to over 1.2 million kids since 1998. Joining this great cause, in 2012, over 300,000 professional firefighters with the International Fire Firefighters Association commonly known as the IAFF have created a localized program called Fire Fighter Coats for Kids. Brand-new American-made coats are provided by the program to economically challenged families with children giving them a sense of dignity and hope in receiving these great treasures.
Tomorrow, 300 special kids will be surprised by firefighters at the Solid Ground facility, a local non-profit organization based in Wallingford that offers 30 programs and services helping nearly 55,000 households annually to overcome poverty and build better futures throughout King County (Washington] and beyond.
“We are proud to give these needy children new, warm winter coats because every child deserves warmth, dignity, and happiness, especially this time of year,” stated Kenny Stuart, President, Seattle Fire Fighters Union, Local 27.
The event will take place on December 18, 2013, from 1800 – 1900 Hours at Solid Ground, 6850 62nd Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98115. [ Media is invited to attend ]
Can’t make the event? You can still help these needy kids by making a donation by typing the word, “WARM” to 50555 to make your donation of $10. The amount will be added to your cell phone bill and help warm a child’s heart.
Great job to all involved in this event. This is very admirable and inspiring! The kids will be so surprised, melting their hearts instantly. What a wonderful gift in itself!
