Burlington Fire Department is currently accepting applications for 1 full-time Firefighter. All testing through National Testing Network (NTN) must be completed by October 27, 2014.
Burlington Fire Department requires both FireTEAM and a valid NTN CPAT. Only CPAT from an NTN location will be accepted for this position.
Salary Information: $4,543.68 – $5,679.61 per month (2014 Salary Schedule)
Benefit Information: Employer provided Medical, Dental, Vision for family and LEOFF retirement. Insurance is through Regence Health First and is 100% employer provided for employee with the employee contributing 10% of the monthly premium for dependents.
Participating in the Washington State Law Enforcement Officers and Firefighter Retirement System.

Department Information: The Burlington Fire Department is a full service combination Fire Department utilizing full-time and volunteer firefighters to staff and respond annually to approximately 2000 calls for service. The Burlington Fire Department provides fire, rescue and emergency medical service for the City of Burlington directly, and by contract to Skagit County Fire District 6 and the surrounding unincorporated Skagit County. The entire service area includes more than 18,000 residents in an area of approximately 32 square miles. The Fire Department structures its public services to meet the daily demands of 45,000-60,000 citizens and visitors. Firefighters with BFD are assigned to one of three shifts and work 48 hours on duty and 96 hours off duty in a repeating cycle.
City Information: The City of Burlington is located in the heart of Skagit Valley on Interstate 5 mid-way between the cities of Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia. The city is known as “The Crossroads of the Cascades” and is a regional retail and commercial center. The resident population is approximately 9,000, but the city structures its public services to meet the daily demands of 45,000-60,000 citizens and visitors.

Age: 21 at time of FireTEAM testing
US Citizen: Yes
High School Grad/GED: Yes
Valid WASHINGTON State Driver’s License: Yes, with ability to obtain Washington State Driver License within 6 months of hire.
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Required Certifications:
• IFSAC/NFPA Firefighter 1, or higher, or documented training to obtain certification within 6 months.
• National Registry or Washington State EMT-Basic.
This is an entry level position. Highly desirable is a minimum of two (2) years of paid, full-time firefighter experience or four (4) continuous years of firefighting experience as a volunteer firefighter in a similar or larger agency.
