Bridgeport, CA | The Van Dyke Fire formerly The Point Ranch Fire.
Last night’s report indicated it had reached up to 150 acres, with 20 structures being threatened. As of 9am this morning, the fire had burned 305 acres. Firefighters have successfully have a 30% containment on the fire.

The fire in Bridgeport had calmed down last night, but homes were still being threatened at that time. The evacuation has since been lifted for the Evans Track community located South of the Bridgeport Ranger Station.
A shelter had been previously set up at the Bridgeport Memorial Hall.
A power outage in the town brought down all landlines and cell phone communications. The Forest Service states this is still the case.

A press release states the Bridgeport Fire initially started on the West side of Highway 395 crossing over the highway. The location of the fire is at Point Ranch South of Bridgeport.
Fire initially started at 1652 hours on Friday, February 6, 2015.
Initial response was by led by the Humboldt-Tioyabe National Forest but the fire moved into the Bureau of Land Management [BLM]’s response area. Leading Agency is now BLM. Unified Command with BLM, USFS and Bridgeport Fire.
Multiple agencies were dispatched and deployed including the Bridgeport, Antelope Valley, Lee Vining, Mammoth Lakes & June Lake Fire Departments along with Mono County Sheriffs Office, CHP, Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, as well as Bureau of Land Management, Bishop Field Office and U.S. Forest Service (Humboldt-Tioyabe and Inyo National Forests).
The Bishop Airport Firefighting Aircraft Reload Base had been activated last night to assist with air support.

Highway 395 has since re-opened but there is a hard road closure at Highway 395 and Lee Vining. Residents have been allowed to return to their homes.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
