Outside of Cashmere, Washington

A brush fire has been reported as starting on Sunday, May 30th around 1300 hours PDT just outside of Cashmer, Washington.  The fire is located in the Nahahum Canyon, a rare place for fire to start.

Chelan County Fire Districts 1, 3, 6 and 7, along with Douglas County Fire District #2, USFS personnel and DNR fire crews responded to the brush fire.

It is stated to be at 30 acres, with a rapid forward spread.

The cause is unknown.

No injuries have been reported.

No evacuations are currently in process.
