The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office released a statement about a NEW wildfire located on the north side of Quincy, Washington State and approximiately three [3] miles North of SR28.

The fire started on July4 [Saturday] around midnight.  The cause and acreage is unknown at this time.

LEVEL 3 Evacuations [Leave immediately] were being conducted raound 0132 PDT in the following areas:

  • Baird Springs Rd / Rd Q NW
  • Rd P NW / Rd 13 NW

Washington State Mobe resources were approved at 0145 PDT.  We left a post on their Facebook Page to see whom they’ll be sending and when to this fire incident.

Another area was added to the LEVEL 3 orders as of 0230 PDT

  • All homess near Rd 12 NW / Rd U NW

LEVEL 2 Evacuations [Get ready for a Leave at a Moment’s Notice] were being conducted at 0230 Hours PDT:

  • Baird Springs / Willow Springs Rd

The Fire area is reported to be heading South to Westward at around 0315 Hours.  The advance was stopped at Roads U NW & 12 NW.

The Fire perimeter is as follows:

  • South Border:  Rd 11 NW
  • West Border:  Rd U NW
  • East Border: Rd Q NW
  • North Border: Baird Springs Rd

A Red Cross Shelter in Quincy has been established.  It is located at the Quincy Jr. HS at 417 “C” Street SE according to Douglas County Sheriff Office’s Facebook Page and information from PIO Kyle Foreman.  It will be ready for evacuees at 0500.  No word on where those have been previously evacuated have been sent to.

No other information is known at this time but we will keep you all apprised of the current fire situation.
