Snohomish County Fire District 1 is currently recruiting Full Time Career Firefighter/EMTs with 3 years’ experience as a career Firefighter EMT.
FireTEAM and CPAT must be completed by the closing date November 9, 2015. Testing is conducted through National Testing Network (NTN).
Salary: $5,415 to $7,784 per month (5 step range)

Department Information: Snohomish County Fire District 1 is one of the largest fire departments in the State of Washington, providing a full range of fire, emergency medical, public education, and fire prevention services to more than 195,000 residents.
Fire District 1 staffs 12 stations 24/7, serving un-incorporated South Snohomish county and the cities of Brier, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and the town of Woodway; responding annually to more than 19,000 fire and EMS calls. All firefighters are certified as either Emergency Medical Technicians or Paramedics. Firefighters specializing in hazardous material response and technical rescue are on duty daily. Fire District 1 also has staff members assigned full time to community relations, fire prevention and public education. District 1 provides progressive, Advanced Life Safety/Basic Life Support transport service.

- High School Grad/GED: Yes
- Valid WASHINGTON State Driver’s License: Yes, by time of closing date
- Must provide copy of driving record for last 3 years at time of application and insurable under District 1 policy.
- Ability to Read/Speak English: Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Undertake and pass a medical exam and drug screening including tobacco products: Yes
- Undertake and pass a psychological exam: Yes
- Undertake and pass background investigation and criminal record check: Yes, including fingerprinting
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Career Firefighter EMT
IFSAC certification or equivalent of Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Hazmat OPS certification
- National Registry and/or WA State certified for 3 years
Preferred qualifications: Washington State Fire Recruit Academy or equivalent.
