MWF-009 also known as #FortMcMurray Fire is located 3 miles W of Fort McMurray.
The main fire that was headed towards Fort McMurray has made it into the City now burning in several streets and commercial buildings. There is a lot of information flowing and we are working on gleaning information from various sources.

FIRES BURNING
Airport / Saprae Creek: Fire is heading towards the facility. It is currently at to the old Airport Road. Crews are on scene.
Birchwood Trails: An unknown # of fires were in this community occurred but all have been extinguished.
Blackburn Drive: 3 structure fires.
Hwy 63 : The fire breached the intersection of Highways 63 & 69, crossing over Hwy 63 is said that it hasn’t reached Prairie Creek yet (as of 5/4/2016 1730 hours MDT or 1630 hours PDT). Teams are making progress.
North Parsons: New school under construction has been lost.
Tmberlea: 15 structure fires on Walnut Crescent. No other fires active in this area.
Walnut Crescent: 15 structure fires.

PRELIMINARY DAMAGE ASSESSMENT
The following is a compiled list of damage reports that have been received by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, a City of 80,000 residents.
Saprae Creek: Fire is headed towards this area and mandatory evacuations began at 1630 Hours MDT ( 1530 PDT) Any residents remaining in Saprae Creek must evacuate immediately to Firehall 5. If you know someone who lives there, call them and tell them to get out now.
TRAFFIC REPORT
Do NOT go into the City.
Hwy 63 @ Hwy 69. Fire crossed Hwy 63 making it impassable to go SB or NB. Closed.
TAPPED FIRES
CanWest Propane Fire: Firefighters extinguished the fire around 5/4/2016 1915 MDT.
