We had a little bit of time to research how Washington State is doing with its fire activity and this is what we found for April so far. Info is gleaned from the Wildcad Dispatch logs.
Dancing Bear Fire
Okanogan County. Crews were dispatched at 1624 hours PDT to a wildfire of grass and brush burning in the Okanogan County area. Crews arrived and contained the fire to 5.15 acres at 1758 hours PDT.
Lake Valley Wildfire
Lincoln County – Fishtrap. 0.07 acres of grass burned. Resources dispatched at 0919 hours PDT on April 2, 2017. Brought under control by BLM resources at 2200 hours PDT.
Okanogan County – Rehmke Rd. Crews were dispatched to this location at 0800 hours PDT on April 26, 2017, for a possible wildfire but found no fire.
RMP Smoke Check
Spokane County – Chattaroy. Crews were dispatched at 1409 hours PDT on April 25th for a possible wildfire but found a legal burn with no escape.
Koontz Rd Piles
Lewis County – Koontz Rd. Crews were dispatched on April 4th to the Lewis County area around 1504 hours PDT where a wildfire of slash and grass were reported as burning. Approximately, 2 acres were destroyed and crews turned it back over to the landowner.
Central Washington Interagency Communications Center – 18295 Little Chumstick Creek, unknown City but Google Maps places it inside the town of Leavenworth’s City limits. Crews were dispatched to a Smoke Check but instead found a 30 x 30 brush fire. Resources arrived on scene and determined it had a low ROS.
