NEAR SUMMER LAKE, OREGON

Incident Summary | An active  wildfire sparked by an unknown human cause is burning  about 2 miles North of Summer Lake, between Milepost 64 and 71 on Hwy 31.  It is also located about 100 miles SE of Bend, Oregon.

The fire is burning on private land and on the Fremont-Winema NF, BLM Lakeview District, OR Department of Fish & Wildlife and in the Summer Wildlife area lands.

Size |  5,833 acres with a 50% containment status.

Current Conditions |  Active fire behavior minimum fire growth.  Fire crews are mopping up in the North, West and East side of the fire. There is a potential of the fire spreading to the South.

Command | There is a NW IMT Team 2 in Command.  The Incident Command Post (ICP) is located at the North Lake School in Silver Lake, Oregon.

Resources | 405 firefighters.

Closures | The Freemont Point Lookout has been closed until 8/1/2017, though not affected by fire.

Traffic Alert! | Hwy 31 is open but with flaggers. BEWARE!

Evacuations | Level 1 evacuations are still in effect for areas located 2 miles North of Forest Service (FS) Road #2901 that extends 2 miles South of The Lodge at Summer Lake on Hwy 31 and all of Ana Estates.

Damage Assessment | There were 3 structures (1 barn, 1 outbuilding, 1 hunting cabin) last night.  Structure protection is still in place for the Summer Lake Lodge area.

Cost-To-Date | $2 Million.
