WA ACTIVE WILDFIRES | AUGUST 15 2017

Post  Summary | Two new wildfires in the Washington State area have ignited overnight.  Here is our recap for Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

HOLT BUTTE FIRE

Washington State – 20 miles NW of Boardman, Washington

This is a NEW wildfire being reported overnight.  This fire started on private land and burning in brush and timber.  Fire behavior is active and putting structures at risk.  There has been 500 acres burned. There is a 0% containment at the time of this posting.  CTD is $250,000..

NORSE PEAK FIRE

Okanogan – Wenatchee NF – 11 miles West of Cliffdell, Washington

Here is another NEW wildfire being reported this morning. This fire has also burned 500 acres. There is no containment status on this fire yet.  Fire behavior is active, spotting and torching.  Structures are in danger but there is no evacuations at the time of this post.  30 personnel are assigned with 1 crew and 2 helos.  CTD is $25,000..

EAST SADDLE MTN FIRE 

Mid-Columbia National Wildlife Refuge – 10 miles W of Othello, Washington

This wildfire started on the afternoon of August 12th from presumably lightning but that is an unconfirmed cause report.  17,465 acres. 80% contained. There are 146 personnel with 48 engines, 1 helicopter.  2 structures have been lost.  CTD is $332,000..

 

JOLLY MTN FIRE

Okanogan-Wenatchee NF – 13 miles NW of Cle Elum, Washington

The Jolly Mountain Fire is made up of five wildfires burning in a remote part of the forest about 5 miles NE at the North end of Lake Cle Elum.  About 334 acres of timber has been burned.  Fire behavior is minimal. There is a 0% containment status on these wildfires. Approximately 207 personnel are assigned with 3 crews, 12 engines and 3 helos.  CTD is $358,000..

NOISY CREEK FIRE

 Colville National Forest – 6 miles SE of Metaline Falls, Washington

The Noisy Creek Fire behavior this morning is moderate with backing, creeping and single-tree torching.  Structures are being threatened.  There have been 4,000 acres scorched but containment has reached 58%.  There are 229 personnel assigned along with 5 crews, 4 engines and 3 helos.  CTD is $4.7 Million..

 

BRIDGE CREEK FIRE

Colville Agency – BIA – 11 miles NE of Keller

The Bridge Creek Fire started on Thursday, August 10, 2017.  This fire is active with group torching, backing and flanking. 1,150 acres have been consumed.  There is an 18% containment reached.  336 personnel with 6 crews, 13 engines and 1 helo are assigned.  CTD is $2 Million..

HEAD WATER FIRE

25 miles West of Goldendale, Washington

The wildfire located in Goldendale started on Sunday, August 13, 2017. 100 acres have been destroyed.  There is a 40% containment status.  Fire behavior is active with group and single-tree torching. Structures are under threat. There are no evacuations in effect.  123 personnel are assigned along with 2 crews, 13 engines and 3 helos. CTD is $383,000..
