UPDATE | Synagogue Stabbing Suspect Arrested

MONSEY (ROCKLAND COUNTY), NEW YORK

Incident Summary

A man with unknown reasons stepped inside a Monsey Rabbi’s home during a Hanukkah celebration and began stabbing people with a machete, injuring five.  Five were transported to a nearby hospital with two in critical condition.

The attacker was hit by a table by inside members, prompting him to leave but try to enter the next door synagogue.  Worshippers inside were able to successfully block the door and saving lives of many inside.

The man fled the scene and left in a vehicle.

Current Status

The suspect has been arrested by NYPD Officers from the 32nd precinct.

The investigation and crime scene are still active at this time.
