A wildfire named the PUEBLO FIRE is burning on the west side of the City near 11th Street and east of Pueblo Boulevard.

This is located near homes and the PAWS for Life animal shelter.

Information indicates the wildfire started very near the animal shelter, prompting emergency evacuations of these pups at their facility.

ALERT: A Wind Warning is in effect.

EVACUATIONS: In progress for PAWS for Life animal shelter.

PRE-EVACUATION ORDERS: Nearby homes are in pre-evacuation status.

Fire officials are asking residents and others to AVOID THE AREA due to dangerous and ever-changing fire conditions, which may impede fire suppression and containment issues, and want to ensure public safety. Conditions are expected to worsen.

Evacuations of animals in progress for the PAWS for Life animal shelter located at 2555 W. Zinnia Avenue, Pueblo, Colorado.

All animals are being moved to the Colorado State Fairgrounds in Pueblo. If you’d like to assist their organization, they would welcome your donations of food, water, blankets, etc. can be made at their new Fairgrounds destination. Please do not go to the animal shelter at this time.
