Update 1 – Sunday, June 12, 2022 – 1230 PT — The Midnight Fire started on June 9, 2022, from an unknown cause that is currently under investigation. It is located about 4.5 miles north-northeast of El Rito in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico.
Incident management is under the Southwest Area IMT1, which assumed command on Sunday, June 12th at 0700 hours.
GO NOW EVACUATIONS are in effect for:
- Community of Potrero (located south of the fire’s origin)
- Community of Valle de los Caballos
READY TO EVACUATE is in effect for:
- Community of El Rito
- Town of Placitas
- Town of Petaca
- State Road 519
GET SET TO EVACUATE is in effect for:
- Community of Vallecito
