The 7K Fire was reported on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 1300 hours PDT and was located about 10 miles SW of Veneta (Lane County) near Alma, Oregon.

Resources who responded over several days included OR Dept. of Forest Districts – Western Lane District, Douglas FPA, Coos FPA, Clackamas FD, BLM OR & WA, Rural Metro Fire, Myrtle PFD, Lane Co Parks, ODF Districts – South Cascade, Central OR, Southwest OR, and West OR.

The fire started on private land from an unknown cause in heavy slash and timber. The fire was last held at 352 acres. All spot fires were extinguished and brought to a 100% containment status.

A total of 13 total crews and nine engines are still being reported by Fire Officials to the National Interagency Fire Center.

No structures were reported as lost.

The expenses incurred for fire suppression and containment status total-to-date add up to $2 Million Dollars.
