A wildfire named the Corbaley Canyon Fire is burning in Douglas County, Washington.

WA DNR resources E6695 and Chelan-41 were dispatched today at 1819 hours PT to Cobaley Canyon in Chelan County. Social media accounts were reported at 1940 hours, the fire is located on the hillside past Baker Flats. As of 1945 (about 25 minutes on the incident clock), residents can see the large smoke column across the river and report no local fire resources are on the scene as of yet.

At 2049 hours, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported the fire was burning on the hillside above Zano Loop Road, which according to our mapping is not too far from this location, if not near it. A Level 1 evacuation notification was issued to those who are east of Fisher Lane near the crest to the plateau at 2044 PDT.

Resources began appearing on the wildcad system showing the following units responding which include| C411D, CREW33, E6695, CHELAN41, B6101, CREW15, H1MR, CHELAN63, C411C, H340, and E4102 have been dispatched to the fire. About 100 acres (wildcad), while the County Sheriff’s Office is reporting it is a 50-acre wildfire.

Fire behavior remains active with a high rate of spread.

We have reached out to local fire resources to see if we can get an update. We know you guys are busy heading out the doors, but lately, it seems difficult to get updates during these types of responses. An update will be provided as soon as we hear from them.
