UPDATE 5: June 25, 2023, 1645 PDT

The DONNIE CREEK FIRE is still burning 136 km SE of Fort Nelson and 158 km N of Fort South John, which has been burning since May 12, 2023, at 1658 PDT and does not seem to be stopping anytime soon.

It is considered an out-of-control wildfire.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be lightning-caused.

There are 168 firefighters and 22 operational fields and support personnel assigned to the incident, along with 17 copters, a single IMT, 33 pieces of heavy equipment a group of 12 structural protection firefighters.

All current evacuation orders in the Peace River Regional District and the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality have been lifted.

The wildfire has burned about 574,511 hectares, which is about 1,419,648 acres in our measurements in the United States.
