The Storage Fire is burning about nine miles west of Palo Pino and four miles south of Possum Kingdom Lake in Palo Pinto County in the State of Texas.

The fire broke out on private land on June 28, 2023, from an unknown source and is currently under investigation. A preliminary cause is said to be possibly related to human intervention in starting the fire.

It has burned 950 acres of brush, grass, and mesquite mix and has an 85% containment status. Fire behavior is listed as minimal with smoldering after yesterday’s rain shower helping with suppression and containment activities.

Resources include the TX A&M Fire Service firefighters and equipment with a total number of 45 personnel, along with 10 engines and a single copter.

There are no evacuations in effect at the time of this update. However, one structure was reported as damaged.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters have been reported.

There is no known total cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment at the time of this post.
