A wildfire named the Bee Top Fire was reported on July 1, 2023, which is burning near Bee Top Mountain, about five miles up the drainage of Lightning Creek and outside of Clark Fork, Idaho.

As of Sunday, July 9, 2023, the fire is showing under the leadership of the Sandpoint Ranger District of the U.S. Forest. Formerly, the fire was under The Northern Rocky Mountain Team 9 under the leadership of Incident Commander Shane Martin. They assumed command on July 5, 2023.

The fire has burned about 37 acres and there is a 16% containment status reached.

Fire behavior remains moderate and had picked up some additional observed activity due to it moving into heavier fire fuels.

There is a total of 134 total personnel and resources assigned to this incident. Earling this evening, the fire had 107 total personnel with one engine, two copters, and four hand crews.

A Fire Info Community Meeting was held this afternoon at the Clark Fork High School in Clark Fork, Idaho.

The cause of the fire is due to lightning.
