The FLAT FIRE is burning two miles southeast of Agness (Curry County) in Oregon, which started on July 15, 2023. The cause is unknown and under investigation.

There are about 378 total personnel with 13 crews, 16 engines, two dozers, two water tenders, and seven copters.

There have been 8,204 total acres of timber burned, which is an increase of 1,477. It still remains at a 0% containment status.

Observed fire behavior is active with uphill runs, wind-driven runs, and group torching. The fire is burning in the burn scars from the Biscuit and Klondike fires.

Structures are still being threatened, while structure protection is still in effect for communities, infrastructure, and natural and cultural resources. Evacuations are in effect for the Curry and Josephine County communities.

The cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts has reached today at $1.8 Million.
