UPDATE 3: Friday, August 4, 2023, 2015 hours PT
A wildfire by the name of BEDROCK FIRE started on July 22, 2023, was started by an unknown cause and is located on National Forest Service Road 18, and on Fall Creek Lake in Lowell and about 27 miles southeast of Eugene, Oregon.
No cause has been released and it is still considered to be listed under investigation.

It has burned about 12,213 acres of timber, closed timber litter and brush, and has a 5% containment status.
Behavior has been observed as active with torching, uphill, and short crown runs.
It is active in previous burn scars of fires JONES (2017), CLARK (2003), and GALES (2021). One of its fire perimeters is near the CEDAR CREEK FIRE (2022).

Evacuation notices are still in effect, as structures remain threatened.
A Type 2, the NW Team 12 (IC Dimke) is currently mobilizing to assume command that is currently with Brian Gales and Eric Riener with the Northwest IMT 13.
There is approximately 702 total personnel along with 10 crews, 40 engines, and nine copters.
The total cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts has reached $12.7 Million Dollars.
