As of 1545, Fire Officials with the State Fire Agency, CAL FIRE / San Diego County FD released a presser stating that the fire’s forward progression had been stopped and that the fire remained at 35 acres and with a 35% containment status.
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — A brush fire is burning in the area of the 13000 block of Hwy 94 and the 13000 block of Vista Sage Lane in Jamul and east of the City of San Diego. This is between Lyons Peak and Rancho San Diego.
It was determined to have started today at 1350 hours PT.

Fire suppression aircraft was dispatched over the fire line. Aircraft units include Air Attack 410, Air Tankers 71 and 91, Copters 10 and 129, as well as Helitanker 729.
10 additional engines were requested by Command through Dispatch as structures were being threatened.
Fire personnel and equipment are currently responding or on the scene of this wildfire from CAL FIRE and San Diego County FD. The Lead Agency is CAL FIRE San Diego Unit.
Evacuations of those in the area are under mandatory orders.
As of 1450 hours PT, the fire had burned approximately 30-35 acres and had a 0% containment status. Fire behavior has been reported as very active with a high rate of spread and the potential of burning 100-plus acres.
The cause is unknown and under investigation by CAL FIRE Investigators.
