INCIDENT SUMMARY
The MAGENTA FIRE is located about seven (7) miles south of Channing along US Hwy 385 in Oldham County, Texas.
The Texas A&M Forest Service was requested on February 27, 2024, around 1747 hours CST to assist local fire agencies as mutual aid. At the time, they responded to the fire which was near Hwy 283 and CR 1061.
CURRENT STATUS
The wildfire has burned almost 4,000 acres and fire crews have reached an 85% containment status.
Crews continued to mop up across the fire area.
The cause is undetermined and under investigation.
Fire fuels include grass and brush. The fire is burning through a creek bottom.
