FIRE SUMMARY: A wildfire named the Neff Road Fire is burning off of Neff Road north of Hwy 124 in Walla Walla County and the call is showing logged in the wildcad.net system at 1422 hours with no resources attached.
CAUSE: What started as a barn fire, high winds and spreading rapidly, the Walla Walla Fire District #4 and College Place Fire members were dispatched as mutual at 1359 hours PT.
FIRE OPERATIONS: At 1414 hours, with the fire increasing as a fast-moving wildfire burning 100 acres, they requested a helicopter from Yakima.
At 1416 hours PT, local fire reported Social Media accounts stating the ground was beginning to become soft, causing fire apparatus to get stuck.
State Mobe resources approved at 1833 hours through the WA Fire Marshal’s Office.
RESOURCES: A dozer was requested at 1420 hours, and a dozer was requested from Benton County due to the Walla Walla County dozer being at the Colton Fire.
SIZE UP: 250 acres with an unknown containment status.
