INCIDENT SUMMARY
A wildfire was reported at 1230 hours AKDT (1130 PT) one mile north of the Denali National Park and Reserve’s entrance and west of milepost 239 Parks Highway.
As of 1600 hours AKDT (1500 PT), the fire was observed as active, moving west of the Alaska RR and away from a commercial
CURRENT STATUS
Size Up. As of 1500 hours AKDT (1400 PT), the fire had burned through 300 acres and is said to be a 0% containment status.
Evacuations. All park users of the Denali National Park and Reserve issued evacuations. https://www.nps.gov/dena/learn/news/index.htm
FIRE OPERATIONS
Smokejumpers. 12 smokejumpers were delivered by aircraft into the area while 10 more are being transported by ground resources.
Resources. The initial response includes resources from the AK DOF & Fire Protection, Tri-Valley Volunteer Fire Department, and the McKinley Village Volunteer Fire Department.

Current Status. About one hour ago, the fire had burned through 300 acres and there is a 0% containment status.
Resources. There are water scoopers, an air tanker, and copters working to keep the fire away from populated areas.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Transportation. Tour and transit bus services have been stopped westbound.
