Firefighters with the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF)’s Prineville Unit in the Central Oregon District responded to a new fire reported on Saturday evening at 1530 hours PT.

It is burning about six miles north of Prineville, Oregon, and has burned an estimated 500 acres with an unknown containment status.
Incident Cooperators include the ODF – Prineville District, the Crook County Sheriff, the U.S. Forest Service, BLM, Crook County Fire & Rescue, and the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.
Federal resources responded to assist ODF resources with aircraft assets consisting of air attack, air tankers, and a copter helping with ground forces.
