The CHALK FIRE is burning 10 miles north of Oakridge in the State of Oregon (USA), which was reported on July 16, 2024, from an undetermined cause. The Incident #OR-WIF-2402023.
Current Status
As of 1540 hours this afternoon, the fire has burned about 600 acres, but one outlet is reporting there have been 1,200 acres scorched. A 0% containment status is listed for this incident.

Fire Fact
Fire crews have been tracking and fighting 24 wildfires across the Willamette National Forest since July 15, including 22 that were sparked by a lightning storm on July 16 that recorded more than 200 downstrikes in Lane County and more than 1,000 lightning strikes across the state. (Source: USFS)
