Incident Summary
On Saturday evening just after 1830 hours PT, firefighters with the Mt. Hood National Forest with the US Forest Service were deployed into the area but were forced to hike into the area, which is about four to six acres one way.
This is in the Mark O. Hatfield Wilderness near Hearman Creek Trail.
Two helicopters responded at the same time and it was stated the wildfire was 10.5 acres in size. Rainy Lake and Black Lake Campgrounds were evacuated as a precaution and temporary closures of Defiance South and Warren Lake Trailheads were in effect.

Cause
The cause of the wildfire was due to human activity and is under investigation. The actual cause has not been released by Investigators.

Current Status
About 165 have been burned and there is a 0% containment status.
Closures
According to the USFS on the Mt. Hood National Forest, they have implemented several closures:
- Campgrounds: Rainy Lake, Black Lake, and Wahtum Lake Campgrounds
- Trailheads: Indian Springs, Warren Lake, Wahtum Lake, Mt. Defiance South, Wyeth, & Herman Creek Trailheads
- Trails: Gorge #400, Herman Creek #406, Herman Bridge #406E, Gorton Creek #408, Wyeth #411, Green Point Ridge #418, Deadwood #422, North Lake #423, Rainy Lake #423A, Ridge Cut-off #437, and Nick Eaton #447
Fire Weather
A red flag warning has been issued due to lightning and critically dry fuels.
