Incident Summary
The MICROWAVE TOWER FIRE is burning five miles southwest of Mosier in the gorge in Oregon. The management of the fire is under Unified Command with the Great Basin IMT and the OR Fire Marshal. The fire is burning near the Microwave Towers.
The cause has been deemed as undetermined, according to the NWCC.
Current Status
Evacuations are in effect.
150 acres. 0% containment status.
Active fire behavior with wind-driven runs, torching, and short-range spotting.
According to the Town of Mosier’s Mayor (paraphrase): “Mayor Anderson met with the IC and freighters are working on gaining containment. No major structures have been lost, thankfully to Mospier FD has been on structure protection. Possible power will be restored this evening and at times on Wednesday and possibly longer, having some interruptions and water is due to continue flowing.”
