INCIDENT SUMMARY

The BRIDGE CREEK FIRE broke out on July 19, 2024, from an unknown cause, and is located about 15 miles south of West Fork north of Bridge Creek, and east of Elbow River in Washington State.

CURRENT STATUS

About 3,898 acres of timber have been burned but there is a 90% containment status. Fire behavior has been reduced to moderate with creeping and smoldering, resulting in limited surface fire activity.


PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: FALSE INFORMATION REPORTED

According to Fire Officials, a FALSE NEWS STORY is being circulated about the Swawilla O Fire about 28 homes burned in this Fire. This is being reported by 560 DPQ 101.7. The PIOs can assure you that this story is FALSE. They are asking folks to call them at 509-800-7550 if you need additional details. (Source: Inciweb)

The NWFB response: There have been 28 lost structures in the Falls Fire. We believe they have bad intel and have not vetted the structure loss for these wildfires. We will continue to use our “verified” sources which include NWCC, NIFC, Inciweb, and other Fire agencies/Facebook Pages for each wildfire/press release like we always have done (since our inception in 2012).

The current IMT for this wildfire is also managing the Swawilla I Fire.

This is Incident #WA-OCA-24099. It was first discovered on USDI Bureau of Indian Affairs lands. Today, the fire is under the management of the Northern Rockies Complex IMT 6 with Rich Cowger as iC and Don Pyrah as Deputy IC.

Resources include 12 total personnel, one crew, and two engines.

FIRE OPS

Firefighters will continue to focus all of their efforts on putting out lingering heat in the northeastern sections of the fire. As the containment status increases for this incident, more resources will be released and redeployed to the Swawilll fire to continue joint fire suppression efforts.

CAUSE

The cause of the Bridge Creek Fire is under investigation.

THREATENED

Two homes are still being threatened since the start of this fire began.

COST-TO-DATE

The CTD has reached 1.2 Million Dollars today.
