The Easy Fire is located about 17 miles west of Mazama (Skagit County), Washington which was sparked by lightning over the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest on July 17, 2024.
Since the start of the wildfire, it has burned about 939 total acres of timber and has a 0% containment status. The fire is still threatening 2 other types of structures and Fire Officials expect full containment on October 1, 2024.
There are 194 total personnel along with 5 crews and 10 engines. This is under the same management as the Pioneer Fire incident.
SR 20 was temporarily closed between Granite Creek (MP 148) and Easy Pass (MP 157) in both directions at 1915 hours PT, according to a Fire Officials presser released this evening, due to debris falling onto the roadway down below. This is due to increased fire activity and the removal of hazardous trees, as well as, protecting the traveling public and firefighters.
