Cliff Mountain Fire

The CLIFF MOUNTAIN FIRE broke out on July 25, 2024, and was sparked by lightning.
It is located about 25 miles east of Joseph, just below Hells Canyon Dam in both Adams and Idaho Counties. Originally, there were two fires, the Muddy Fire and the Cliff Mountain Fire which merged into one single fire.
At this time, there has been about 1,108 acres of brush, grass, and timber have been burned and now have a 20% containment status. Fire behavior is minimal.
No resources are showing assigned to this incident at this time. The Southern Area Red Team assumed command of this incident on July 30, 2024. They are also managing the Limepoint Fire.
According to Fire Officials, Hells Canyon Dam and related powerlines are being threatened.
No evacuations are in effect at this time.
The cost-to-date has reached $25,000.00
