Courtrock Fire | Saturday Fire Update

On July 21, 2024, a lightning storm passed over and ignited a small-turned-large-wildfire into what it is today, a 20,019-acre fire that has continuously threatened homes and other types of structures.

It is listed about seven miles south of Monument in Oregon.

The fire is now listed at 89% contained.

The wildfire was expected to be fully contained on August 9th, but due to warmer, drier, and heavier fire fuel loads – it may not occur until extensive rain and/or snow falls over the many fires burning. This is due to many wildfires burning throughout the Pacific Northwest region.

According to local Officials, “All evacuation zones West of the Courtrock Fire and South of Hwy 402 have been removed, to include the town of Long Creek. Evacuation zones East of the Courtrock Fire to Hwy 395 remain in place.” – Grant County Emergency Management. Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100068819321423
