INCIDENT SUMMARY
The TOWN GULCH FIRE is burning eight miles north of Richland, Oregon, caused by lightning like so many other wildfires burning in this State.
FIRE BEHAVIOR
Fire behavior has been observed as active with flanking, creeping, and single-tree torching threatening several communities and prompting evacuations, area, and road closures.
RESOURCES
The fire is under the leadership of the SA Team 2, a CIMT on USFS lands in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest.
There is a total of 308 personnel along with five crews, 40 engines, and six copters.
SIZE UP
About 18,552 acres have been burned but fire resources have reached a 37% containment status.
DAMAGE ASSESSMENT
According to the NIFC, 15 structures have been lost and four structures are either damaged or destroyed released by a Fire Update by the Town Gulch Fire Facebook Page.
