The ESTES BUTTE FIRE is located 16 miles northwest of Plain (Chelan County), 14 miles north of Leavenworth along the Wenatchee River, and near the Rock Trail and Estes Butte Trail in Washington State. It was one of many lightning-sparked wildfires on August 13, 2024.

It is burning on the U.S. Forest Service – Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in heavy forest timber and brush on a ridge top near Estes Butte in the Chiwawa River Drainage.

The fire has burned about 1.6 acres and has a 75% containment status, say Forest Fire Officials.

According to the local Fire Agency, Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue on Tuesday, Super Scoopers were busy on Lake Wenatchee providing an aggressive fire attack along with smoke jumpers and rappel crews.

They stated that though there is steep and rugged terrain, this would warrant a quick egress on the fire and putting it out but today, the USDA stated the fire was still less than the ideal 100% containment status.
