Retreat Fire

The RETREAT FIRE was determined to be a human-caused wildfire, which was started on July 23, 2024, and is located about 14 miles southeast of Naches, Washington State. The Incident # is WA-SES000477.
Today, the fire has burned about 45,601 acres of timber and brush and has a 70% containment status. Fire crews are currently working on mop-up operations.
About 1,213 structures still are considered under threat, while 4 homes and 2 other structures were destroyed and 7 other structures were reported as damaged.
Maintenance crews with the Washington State Department of Transportation are currently replacing guardrails and signs that were damaged in the wildfire. Once, the evacuations are lifted, the WSDOT is working to reopen roadways once again.
There are still 372 total personnel assigned to this incident, along with four crews, and 10 engines.
The total cost to date has reached 17 Million Dollars.
