2620 Road Fire

The 2620 ROAD FIRE started on August 14, 2024, at 1700 hours PT and is located west of Brinnon, north of Duckabush Road on Mt. Jupiter, on the Olympic Peninsula in Jefferson County, Washington State. It is said to be burning in recently logged, rugged, steep terrain in heavy fire loads.
The cause of the wildfire is undetermined and remains under investigation.

Resources include 2 scoopers dropping water over the fire and crews on the ground working to place lines for structure protection. The Olympic National Forest state aircraft are actively dipping out of Lake Cushman and are asking visitors to remain clear of aircraft operations and stay out of their way.
A TFR or aka Temporary Flight Restriction as set by the FAA.
No Shelters are open at this time, according to Fire Officials with the Western Washington Type 3 Incident Management Team who are managing this new incident. The IC is Kent Stanford.
The estimated size is 233 acres and has a 0% containment status. (wildcad.net)
Some are reporting on Social Media of two wildfire names for this one incident. We are going to continue using the one.
