JEFFERSON COUNTY, WASHINGTON — The 2620 ROAD FIRE is located west of Brinnon on the Olympic Peninsula, which broke out on August 14, 2024, around 1700 hours PT.
It is located in an area where it has been recently logged. Fire Officials are not speculating on the cause, which has been determined as “unknown” and under investigation.
There have been 445 acres of timber (litter/understory), light logging slash, and other fire fuels. A 0% containment status is still listed for this incident.
Fire behavior has been observed as active with single tree torching, backing, and spotting.
About 162 total personnel are assigned which includes local, State, and Federal fire agencies and other support personnel and equipment.
