2620 Road Fire

INCIDENT SUMMARY
CHELAN COUNTY — The 2620 Road Fire is located about five miles west of Brinnon, Washington, which started on August 14, 2024, at 1700 hours PT, from an undetermined cause.
The fire is currently in a recently logged area with steep and rugged terrain, as well as heavy fire fuels.
CURRENT STATUS
The fire has burned about 322 acres (more accurate mapping occurred) and has a 0% containment status.
FIRE OPERATIONS
Incident Command: The GA Type 3 IMT joined the Western WA Type 3 IMT yesterday.
Structure Protection: resources are assigned for those structures right near the fire itself.
Ground Resources: The ground has a heavy duff layer over hard rocky areas, making it more challenging to dig and place lines into the ground. It is taking crews a little longer than expected to complete this task.
Suppression Lines: These lines are being placed in the Southern and Eastern flanks of the fire.
On Order: More resources have been requested and are on order.
Air Assets: Two helicopters and two scoopers are actively dropping water over the fire line.
THREATENED
There are about 20 single-family residences and 10 mixed commercial/residential structures that are currently being threatened by the fire.
RESOURCES
Status: There are about 165 personnel with 10 crews and nine engines.
Incident Cooperators: Brinnon FD, USFS, WA DNR, WA State Fire Marshal’s Office (State Mobe).
Animal Rescue: The Center Valley Animal Rescue is the primary coordinator for animal evacs in the Duckabush area. If you and your pets need rescued or moved to a safe location, you can contact them by calling CVAR at 360-765-0598. They are directly in contact with the Brinnon FD and Jefferson County who have assigned them as this type of resource.

ALERTS
Warning to All Watercraft: Fire Suppression aircraft and helicopters are dipping out of nearby Lake Cushman and Fire Officials are asking those on the water to steer clear of them, for yours and their safety while they are drafting water from the lake.
