The HILL FIRE ignited from an unknown cause just before 1700 hours this evening, which prompted a Level 3 evacuation order(s) for LAK-E069 and LAK-EO76.

The brush fire was said to be less than five acres in size and burning trees and brush, and setting one structure ablaze. This is located in a very densely populated neighborhood with lots of structures and dotted treelines.

The Incident Commander at which time an immediate Task Force of three engines of any type was on order. Shortly after the request, it is said that staffing and equipment including 17 engines, two bulldozers, two water tenders, three helicopters, and three fixed-winged aircraft assets were en route to the fire incident.

A hard closure off Hwy 29 in both directions was put into place.

A temporary evacuation point was established by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department for Lakeport City Hall, located at 225 Park Street in Lakeport, California.
